BackTendd

A Rocket Money alternative, without linking a bank

Both help you see your subscriptions. They start from different places: Rocket Money from your linked bank, Tendd from a list you can make without one. Everything said here about Rocket Money is from its own pages, linked below.

Linking a bank

  • TenddOptional. You can add every subscription yourself, or connect a bank read-only through Plaid.
  • Rocket MoneyIts help center says it "relies on having at least a checking account linked", and it finds subscriptions from the accounts you connect.

Adding subscriptions yourself

  • TenddThe main way in, free, from 400+ services or by hand, on any device with a browser.
  • Rocket MoneyPossible in its mobile app, not on its website, according to its help center.

Price

  • TenddFree for a list you add yourself and a first bank scan. Tendd Pro is $9.99 a month or $69 a year.
  • Rocket MoneyA free plan, and Premium at a price you choose, which its own site says typically ranges from $7 to $14 a month.

Canceling

  • TenddShows you how, step by step for the services people track most, and that part is free. It never cancels on your behalf.
  • Rocket MoneyIts Premium members can ask its team to cancel for them, which its site says usually takes 2 to 10 days.

Your data

  • TenddDoes not sell your data, and names every service that runs Tendd in its privacy policy.
  • Rocket MoneyIts privacy notice says it shares information with Rocket companies for their marketing, which you can limit.

Which one fits

If you want an app to link your accounts and do the canceling for you, Rocket Money is built for that. If you would rather keep your bank out of it, or keep the list yourself and do the canceling in a few minutes, Tendd is built for that.
